Welcome to Backseatr ("Backseatr", "we", "us"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Backseatr mobile and web application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who can use Backseatr
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service.
If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian’s permission.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account.
2. The Service
Backseatr is a personal game journal and social platform. You can track the video games you play, log play sessions, rate and review titles, build and share lists, follow other users, and optionally connect a third-party library (such as Steam) to import your games.
Game information is supplied by third parties and may not always be accurate, complete, or available in your language.
3. Your content
"User Content" means anything you submit to the Service, including reviews, ratings, lists, comments, your username, bio, and profile image.
You keep ownership of your User Content. You grant Backseatr a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service.
You are solely responsible for your User Content and confirm that you have the rights to share it.
4. Acceptable use
We operate a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You agree not to:
• post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable;
• harass, abuse, impersonate, or harm other users;
• upload viruses or malicious code, or try to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Service;
• scrape, copy, or exploit the Service or its data except as expressly allowed.
You can report profiles, reviews, comments, or lists and block users from within the app. Blocking removes visibility and interaction in both directions until you unblock the person. We use a limited preventive text filter and human review; no filter catches every violation.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms. We aim to review reports promptly and ordinarily within 24 hours, but response times can vary.
5. Third-party services
The Service integrates with and links to third-party services, including IGDB (game data), Steam (library import), and Google and Apple sign-in. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Backseatr is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve, Steam, IGDB, Google, or Apple. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, features, and branding (excluding User Content and third-party materials), belongs to Backseatr and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.
7. Privacy
We only store the data needed to run the Service, such as your account details and the game activity you create. When you connect Steam, we store your SteamID, public name, and avatar.

8. Account termination and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the app, which permanently removes your account and its associated data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that game data will be accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Backseatr will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
